Story of a Man: Unknown

It’s tough being a man. There’s always going to be expectations. Expectations like that of an ALL-STAR PLAYER in NBA. But like a human being, a man is going to fail those expectations.

Even if a man doesn’t feel bad about not meeting those expectations, he feels tremendous pressure to meet them. Thanks to the society around us, starting from our loved ones (yes, even the loved ones) to any fucking stranger. The expressions and the behavior that is shown to a man for not being up to a certain standard is so crushing. I’m reminded of a student who is very good at studies but is always expected to get better marks because the standard is always above what he scores. He doesn’t know the expectation is 101% (unattainable) and is always going to be like that even when he enters the real world.

Nobody wants to accept him as a messy person. A person who’s confused about his own existence. Everybody wants to change him as per their own will and if it’s not like that, they don’t want to love him the way he is or the way he is evolving in his own way.

They try to control his feelings, behavior, and whatnot. Guiding/helping is one thing and controlling is another. Guiding/helping leads to the blossoming of the flowers but controlling? Controlling has always led to explosions. Controlling produces another Jordan (Rockstar), another NEGATIVE! It leaves the man with two ways: one to not give a FUCK about the society, be fearless (be a tough nut to crack), or to get crushed under the pressure of expectations. The former opens him into a world of even enormous pressure and hatred from the society that he has no option but to get crushed!

Instead, if that man was guided, loved, and nurtured — what a story would that be!? Well, that’s just a fairy tale, isn't it? Because that never happens. Maybe it’s glorified in literature just like love and success in movies. There’s always hope. Maybe it’ll happen in the future. At that time, people will forget the fallen men and celebrate the love, guidance, and nurturing. Whatever happens, one should always consider human beings before gender because men are human beings before everything. All people shouldn’t be treated in a particular way for every human is different. Treat them accordingly. Be kind and love everyone the way they are.
